When friends and families work together for a common cause, the shared effort maximizes the impact of the contribution- the more collaboration, the further the reach. We at Knot Just Yarn understand the importance of generosity and the power in numbers. That is why we strive to spread the spirit of kindness throughout the community by highlighting the needs of a variety of non-profit organizations throughout the year.

February 18th – April 5th: We have jumped into to our “Hat Not Hate” campaign to raise awareness and stand up to bullying in our communities. Lion Brand launched this anti-bullying campaign in 2018. They encourage people to make, wear, and post handmade blue hats, adding #HatNotHate when sharing on social platforms. If you donate a hat made with any of Knot Just Yarn’s blue yarns, you will get back 10% of the price to use in store credit. On April 6th every hat will be sent to programs that will help to end bullying in school! The color blue represents awareness, peace, and solidarity. Blue is the color to wear in support of anti-bullying.
January 2020: We will kick off our “Warm Hearts, Warm Clothing” drive for the Denver Rescue Mission. They can use gently used coats for men, women, and children, in all sizes. They can also use hats, gloves, mittens, scarves and socks. For every hand knit or crocheted item you drop off between Jan 3 – Feb 15, 2020, you will receive a 10% discount on that day’s purchase. We donated 62 hats and six scarves made by our wonderful fiber friends!
The Click for Babies Purple Cap campaign to raise awareness for shaken baby was the first non-profit we chose to partner with and it was a great success. Because of the generosity of people just like you, Knot Just Yarn, Colorado’s only drop off location, donated 46 caps. We’re also the state’s only collection site for Knots of Love, who provides knitted and crocheted blankets and hats for cancer patients.
Giving back is not only good for the community, it is also good for your soul. There is actual scientific evidence that giving increases activity in the part of the brain that registers pleasure. And your own act of kindness can inspire others around you to do the same. If you have an organization or cause you’re passionate about and would like Knot Just Yarn to highlight it as one of our charity knitting or crocheting projects, please let us know!
